Baptism

This week we have been learning about Baptism. We began the week by watching year 1 perform a Baptism in our Nursery. We then spent the week practicing our own baptisms. On Thursday we went across to our church, St Josephs to have a look at the font where some of us have been baptised. We saw the holy water in the front and the huge Easter Candle from which our own baptism candles are lit.

Parents if you have any pictures from your children’s Baptism we would love to see them.

Term 1

This term we have been really busy settling in to Nursery, exploring our classroom and making lots of new friends.

....................................

5 Currant Buns

In Nursery we have learning lots of new songs, one of our favourite is 5 Currant Buns.

We decided to make our own bakers shop with currant buns and pennys.

Then we took it in turns to dress up as the baker and sing the song. The next week we decided we needed to make our own currant buns.

Frist we washed our hands because we don’t want germs.

Then we helped Mrs Shaw read the ingredients and made sure we had everything we needed. We weighed the ingredients on the weighing scales then helped mixed them together in a big bowl.

When they were cool we iced the buns and put a cherry on the top. As it was a lovely sunny day we decided to have a picnic and eat our currant buns.

We also made some playdough currant buns.
