Year 6

On Tuesday, Year 6 went to the Imperial War Museum to learn all about war and the affects it has on people. They had a great day and even got to meet two real-life war veterans. They asked them some brilliant questions and learnt a lot from them.

We all had an amazing day filming for Blue Peter. The children were asked to taste test cakes and vote for their favourites. We look forward to watching the clip on BBC in October. We will let the children know the date as soon as we know.

This week, in Religion, the children have been looking into God's love for us. They have created their own version of Psalm 136. Here are some examples of the children's work.

The Year Six children had a wonderful indoor PE session this week trialling out our newly fitted climbing frame.  The money for the frame was raised at our Christmas Fayre last year  and now our children are reaping the benefit.  The children were suitably excited and gave thumbs up all around.

Year Six have had a wonderful first few days settling into their new class and discussing their aspirations for the year ahead. Already we have been impressed by the kindness, courtesy and good manners shown by our top class. A great example to their peers in other year groups - well done to everyone.

Welcome to Year Six

We have a very challenging but exciting year ahead of us at St. Joseph's, with many experiences to look forward to. We aim to ‘have life and have it to the full’ in all areas of life at St. Joseph’s.

Year Six is extremely hard work, with lots of high expectations. However we endeavour to make it lots of fun which will make it one of your most memorable years at St. Joseph's Primary School to date.

Homework books will be given out on a Thursday and should be back in with at least one completed piece on a Tuesday.

PE will be on a Monday and Thursday. All children must bring correct kits into school each week- red t-shirt, black shorts and pumps or trainers.
